Or, I don’t even know.

It’s not that I have nothing to say on my blog, which causes me to not post. It’s that I’m to busy doing the things I want to talk about that I forget/don’t have time. Often, the only time I have enough time and energy to write a post is when the kids are asleep at work.

Nonetheless, I do often think about things that I should blog about. And I (usually) write down my ideas when I have them. So, the following is a screen-shot from my iphone of things I want/need to blog about and haven’t gotten around to yet.

Maybe the kids will take a long nap today, and I’ll get to schedule a couple for this week. Here’s hoping.

Day Off

Or, Let the Day Begin

Today, here’s what’s going on for me:

  1. Sleep late. (I slept from 9 pm until almost 10 am. Holy Crap.)
  2. Run a few errands.
  3. Edit pictures for 5-6 hours.
  4. Water Aerobics
  5. Photo shoot for Proof, a Tater Patch Players production, for the Progress next week.

I am so behind on editing, it’s ridiculous. Hopefully, I’ll be able to get some new photos on my photo blog. And, I have three really awesome ideas for legit wordy blogs, and I have no idea when I’ll get to them. So, I’m just saying, if you’re waiting for me to show you some pictures, or write some interesting things, keep waiting.

Conversations with Small Children

Or, This is my job

Setting: Sitting in a hammock in the backyard.

Me: Mommy is going to Maine this week, right?
Mia (4-year-old): Yep.
Me: Are you going to miss her?
Mia: Yeah, I’ll miss her a lot.
Me: Why will you miss her?
Mia: Mommy has the best food.

Setting: In the car.

Sarah Kate (3-year old): yells Baby Jesus!
Me: Baby Jesus?
SK: Yeah! Baby Jesus!

Setting: In the car again. A motorcycle pulls beside us.

SK: I see a mow-uh-sikkle!
Me: Yeah. I see it too.
SK: What is he doing over there?
Me: I guess he’s driving somewhere.
SK: Oh… He is so weird.
Me: He’s weird?
SK: Yeah. He is weird.
Me: Okay, then.

Goals

Or, “Productivity” on my off-day.

Here’s what I need to get done today:

  1. Taxes. Obviously Muy Importante on April 15. Thankfully, I use Tax Act, and mostly everything is the same, but since I am technically self-employed, I still have to enter a lot of expenses and crappus. But, I’m doing them now.
  2. Mark out a place in the back yard to be tilled for a garden. One of my mom’s friends is going to come till it whilst I am at water aerobics.
  3. Edit at least 2 photo shoots. I am SO FAR BEHIND in getting photos done it is both ridiculous, and overwhelming.
  4. Stretch. Because holy cow, my hamstrings and glutes are sore from running last night. I was feeling very emotional, and sprinting was involved. Also, my awesome friend Elizabeth gave me stretches to loosen up and ease the soreness in my recently-sprained ankle, and they have been super helpful having just used them for a couple of days so far.
  5. Water aerobics. Time is not my friend today, so I’m really hoping I will be able to make this happen.

I Have Awesome Taste in Music

Or, Arrogance

This is my newest work of Mixed CD greatness. It’s my mix for the spring-transitioning-into-summer season:

  1. Let the Day Begin – The Call
  2. Something Real – Indigo Girls
  3. Kandi – One eskimO
  4. Grace is Gone – Dave Matthews Band
  5. I and Love and You – The Avett Brothers
  6. Missing You – John Waite
  7. Brand New Day – Sting
  8. Standing Outside a Broken Telephone Booth With Money in Hand – Primitive Radio Gods
  9. Breathe (2 a.m.) – Anna Nalik
  10. Mama Said Knock You Out – LL Cool J
  11. Just Say Yes – Snow Patrol
  12. Amsterdam – Guster
  13. This is the Day – The The
  14. Time Bomb – Rancid
  15. The Boys of Summer – Don Henley
  16. Left of Center – Suzanne Vega feat. Joe Jackson
  17. Prayer in Open D – Emmylou Harris
  18. Ooh La La – Faces

I recently read Love is a Mix Tape, by Rob Sheffield, and up until that time, I kind of thought I was the only person who would make mixes including the likes of both LL Cool J and Emmylou Harris. However, I have been remiss in that thinking. Awesome people all over the world make crazy CDs all the time, featuring music in no way associated with one another, and I think the world is better for it.

Honorable Mentions – These didn’t make the cut of the 80-minute CD due to time constraints, but I wrote them down on my notepad to include them. Unfortunately they just weren’t quite awesomely perfect enough for this particular CD:

  1. One Step Up – Bruce Springsteen
  2. Galileo – Indigo Girls
  3. Every Breath You Take – The Police
  4. At this Moment – Billy Vera
  5. Going to California – Led Zeppelin
